longest crossover cable

I am going to connect my computer to my parent with a crossover cable. What is the longest length that the cable can be without using a repeater?
 
I can only assume that it has the same limitations a normal cat5 has. 100Meters or like 330Ft...
 
About 350 feet is the cut-off point we used for commercial networks. Anything longer, and we ran fiber optic lines instead.

This is assuming you're planning to use a decent quality cat-5 cable. Cheaper quality saves nothing!
