Stay away from PalitDaytona!

I am now going on my 3rd PalitDaytona GF4 Ti4200 128mb 8x video card. I purchased one when I built my new system, and it was great for about a month. I always ran it at stock speeds. After that first month, I started getting terrible artifacts everywhere. Annoyed, I put a small box fan blowing air into my case towards the vid card to see if that would change anything. It reduced the artifacts, but did not eliminate them. I set up an RMA with Newegg, and 2-3 weeks later I had a new card. Popped it in and was good to for another 3-4 months. Just recently, I started having 2 problems. The screen will flicker (as if changing resolutions) whenever something significant changes on the screen (close/open program, navigating websites, etc etc). The second problem is artifacts again, bad. All over the place, just in windows, I don't even want to know what it would be like in games. I rarely overclocked it, usually only when gaming and not much of an overclock at that. The stock mem speed was lame to begin with, at a blistering 420mhz. Yanked the card, slapped an old TNT2 in there and that's what I'm using now. I certainly learned from this experience and won't be buying another Palit product. Though I would share and warn/save some other people out there from making the same mistake I made.

Aye...It's pays off in the end to go with a company that has an established and posivite rep.....Even if it means forking over a few extra clams.

I love mine. I liked it because of price. I didn't need the games other manufacturers were putting with their cards. I have had none of the problems you are describing. Sorry to hear of your bad luck.
