Check it...More new stuff on the way :)

I thought I would do something a little different and share my work with all of you from the end to the beginning. Well, sorta, I'm not actually done yet.

I wanted to kick this off with a pic of my side panel. Just got it back from Custom Water Cuts

Anyway...here is the first pic. Many more pics to come.

Click the image to open in full size.

I will be sharing all the particulars such as: case, mobo processor, cooling and the mods as I go.

Sho

Thanks for the compliments fellas

It wasn't much at all. CWC requires that you submit an image of what you want cut so that they can convert it into a pdf file and spec it for the machine. This will cost you $15. Should you decide to go forward they will credit the $15 towards your purchase. It cost me $70 total. Of course prices vary depending on the amount of work they have to do.

Click the image to open in full size.

After submitting the image I measured and double-checked the location of the cut.

Click the image to open in full size.

As you see from the background in the first pic I mounted an Aqua-Computer Evo 360 Radiator into the LianLi V1000. I am going with a green theme and will have a nice green lite illuminating the Lion when I am done.

I am going to put a plexi screen behind the window and wrap it in Modders Mesh. I got the idea from something similar at Gruntville.

When they sent the pdf back to me it had several measurements on it. So, I think that once you get a working drawing they scale it to fit your case. In otherwords, if you created a pdf they would probably have to redo it anyway. Send em' an email. Chris is a real nice guy. I'm sure he would be happy to work with you.

Got that pegged. ShoNuff's lion would be perfecly at home in this stained-glass window landscape. Love it, BTW.

I am using an Aqua-Computer AquaTube Revision 1.1. Mounted in the hard drive bay as you can see below.

This thing was a bear to install due to the fact that it is "slightly" larger than the standard 80mm hole saw. Now it sits nice and snug it its new home.

I am going to replace the 45 degree elbows on the left with these 90's I got recently. Should be less restrictive and easier to plumb.

Click the image to open in full size.

I imagine it will look even better with the green LED and water flowing through it.

Got the European parts (mostly Aqua-Computer) gear from SNT Systems.

Nice design. It looks like the stylized MGM lion that I've seen in a Stanley Kubrick film or two. With that kind of theme, it'd make a pretty cool media center type rig. Nice looking setup so far, looks professional.

Thanks Bro. It is actually going in a "Home Office" where I have my customers visit. The design flows with the whole Herman Miller, Silicon Valley, high tech set up I have. Its "purdy" on the outside and 110% gaming rig on the inside!

If you want a "Factory Window" it will cost you between $55-$65 including shipping. Unfortunately the LianLi's aren’t cheap. Yes, Chris will charge you $15 to prepare a quote. Based on the .pdf file I got back it seems like a lot of work goes into preparing a quote. You do get it back if you decide to go with him. Note, I sent the same image to Voyeur Mods and they quoted me $200 to do the same work.

I recently found some sleeving that I've never seen before. Given my "Green" theme I think it will work well. I should have the sleeving by Monday and finish the job sometime next week.

The PSU I am sleeving is below. It is the OCZ/Tagan Powerstream 520. It is a very nice unit. I had a PCP&C 510 Deluxe but it was very loud under load. I was using it to power my 3.2GHz EE cpu, two optical drives, 3 HD's, 9800XT, 2 120mm and 5 80mm fans and it would get very loud under load. At idle it was whisper quite. The rails were ultra tight under MBM as monitored in windows.

I haven’t been able to test the OCZ 520 much. I just know it is quite and also has very tight tolerances on all rails. So far I am impressed. In addition to that it looks so good my wife (who could care less about my hobby) had to stop and ask me what that shiny thing was.

Behold..."The shiny thing"

PSU is done...finally

Finally got the PSU done. Did away with the annoying 24 pin connector and that one connector I've never used since I've been building PC's. The extra four wires for the ATX connector are hidden in the ATX connector sleeving. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

However, seeing as how the rest of the cash is styled geometrically modern, I would have to say his over-all theme would be closer to art deco. Art Deco emphasized natural geometric perfection. Art Nouveau similarly, but in a different direct, emphasized the reflection of nature and the curves found there in. If he had made a case or chosen a case made of nothing but curves and bends to make it look as though it "grew" into those shapes naturally, then it could be considered art nouveau.
[/art geek]
Oh, and nice cutout. I've never seen the MGM Grand logo look so cool...

The easiest way to convert any duo-tome image to a PDF vector image is by using Adobe Streamline. Make sure you include your measurements in the iimage beforehand though.

Agreed. *Sigh* I hadn't seen the rest of the case, and was trying to inspire a departure from the art deco norm. Art nouveau can't be everywhere like art deco (the historic, literal definition) is today, but it could work nicely with computer cases.

Finally...

I got my card...finally. I gotta give props to my man Dennis at PC Club in Thousand Oaks. Called and they just happened to have one available. Sometimes you just can't beat the local guys.

If you guys are looking for XT PE's he may be able to get them for you. Give em call or check em' out out online.

I should have the AquagraFX 6800 (pic below) in about another two weeks. The only thing I don't like about this card is the noise of the stock cooling unit.

The good news is that I will have my N-E-W pump tomorrow. Going to install the Aquastream with it. This will allow me to overclock my Ehiem 1046 to 1048 levels. Should be interesting.

My only concern with the Aquastream is that it may not have enough "oomph" to power my dual loop system. Looking at the pic below I am going to have a CPU and GPU loop. With this setup and Aquastream pump I will really be able to see how the "Low Flow" European systems work.

Excellent work Sho, you are going to have one mean-machine.
Questios:
What CPU and NorthBridge h20 blocks are you using?
Have you thought about using the AquaJet in your AquaTube?
Click the image to open in full size.

Said to give an nice affect with the LED mod (I love Aqua-Computer gear)....

I have the very same video card (yet to get it installed).. Keep the updates coming as well as the first class work.

Yo ModSquad, thanks for posting.

I thought about adding the AquaJet, and I still may, however I am concerned about how it may affect my flow rates.

When I get a chance to test the Aquastream I may add it. Not sure at this point.

Are you going to "Vinyl Dye" or paint your flow meter? That is next on my list. Not sure if I am going to go the paint or dye route?

I had planned on painting it, but as it will be behind that 5.25" bay mirrored acrylic back plate I made no one will ever see it.

It's a shame AQ did not just make the thing out of black plastic. What brand water blocks are you using? They look like AlphaCool.. and more hardware information:

processor
hard drives
optical drives

Cool

"OLD" System Specs:

M/B: Abit IC7 MaxIII
Processor: 3.2GHz EE @ 4GHz
Video Card: eVGA 6800 Ultra 450/1.2GHz
Memory: Corsair XMS4000, 2.5-3-3-5
Optical Drives: NEC 3500A, Pioneer 108D
Hard Drives: WD 36GB Raptors x 2, Hitachi 160GB storage/backup

Cooling Parts:
Radiator: Aqua-Computer Evo 360
CPU Block: AlphaCool NexXus HP Pro (performed slightly better than the AC block)
N/B Block: Aqua-Computer Twinplex
GPU Block: Aqua-Computer AquaGrafx 6800

Other:
Fan/Temp Controller: Aqua-Computer Aquero 3.07 VFD
Pump: Aqua-Computer Aquastream v3.0

I just got the flow meter yesterday. I don't think I am going to paint it. It will be hidden sitting down in the area next to my HD's.

In an effort to clean things up a little I may add the CF to my drives the way ModSquad did. That is such a clean mod.
