~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, Thanks for taking the time to allow me to interview you.
its kinda long, feeling good after a race tonight, so its a long read
When did you join the Team? Approximate date is ok if you don't know the specific date.
03.06.06 is what EOC says, and that's about right, for this time around. A few years ago, like spring of 04 I started to fold, I saw it on the ScreenSavers, and then when I got home from my mission, I started folding again. Thats the current date.
If there was something recent that you did that you wanted your fellow teammembers to know about, what would it be?
Well, I just got back from the "50 lap relay" that happens every semester at my school. It goes boy/girl, alternating. I ran #2 and #50. It was fun, on the first lap, I came around first, smoked everyone right off!
What is your EOC (extremeoverclockers) stats link?
EOC stats for dz_jad
You do not have to give specifics (address), but what State do you live in, and if you don't mind telling, what town? (town is not required, but if not a town, a general direction and distance from the nearest 'big town/city' would suffice)
I grew up in NE Indiana, for 19 years. I then went on a 2 year mission for my church in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. I spent 3 months in Kingman, AZ, and 3 months in Elko, NV. I got home in June 06, and lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where my parents had moved too. CURRENTLY I am in Rexburg, Idaho (about 1/2 hour from Idaho Falls), attending College at a church school. BYU-Idaho's website
How did you initially hear about F@H?
I heard about it originally on The ScreenSavers, on TechTV, and then this past spring when I was running my mission office I had some problems, and came to the forums to find answers. I saw the folding forum and started to get interested again.
After starting, why do you continue to Fold?
I fold some for the points, though not many, and I just fold because its a good cause. I'm not sure that while I'm in college I'll get any Designated Folding Rigs, but maybe when I graduate.
What do you do for a living?
I'm a student now, like a second semester freshman. I'm majoring in Computer Engineering, hoping to do something with making software work on certain hardware. I'm hoping to get a job where my dad works. They're hiring a TON of engineers by 2010. Its RockWell Collins, located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The do gov't contracting for communications mostly. They also do cockpit stuff for big Commercial Jets.
What do you do for fun?
I like to run. I play soccer. Recently I havent played many video games, since the social life here at school has gone up, but in the past I have played a lot of Counter Strike and BattleField 2.
Is there anything special you do in your spare time that you really enjoy?
I like to read my scriptures, trying to focus on more spiritual things, like what life is really all about, and trying to make something of myself.
Time to spill your guts. What are the stats of your main folding rig? Why is it your fave? What all do you use the rig for?
3500+ A64 @ around 2500, 1 gig DDR2 800 corsair ram, Asus m2n-sli deluxe, with a 7600 GT video card in 'er. Its my only current running rig. I've got a socket A 2800 sitting on my desk that just needs a video card.
Do you have a Borg-Farm? If so, how many computers, and what are they? (CPU, RAM)
I've got my brother's computer borged, its a A64 something. He got it from HP I think.
What are your future goals? What do you most want to accomplish with your life?
I'm lookin to get married! Hopefully by this time next year I will be engaged. I hope to retire early, and do a ton of other things. Not sure how that will work out though.
If there is something you want to tell the team, then spill your guts! What have I missed in my questions that could help the team learn more about you and who you are?
I'm going tommarrow to see if I can get a job at FedEx up here...
This time, dz_jad also sent us a few pics too!!
Not a clue what dept. he's in. Brand new - just moved to C.R.
He's helping develop their attack helicopter lay out and controls. That's his background, not engineering, and NOT programming.
What happened to BYU, Idaho and your studies, young man? /clears throat twice/
Congrats on landing a job with Rockwell, dz!
It's still there Hasn't been taken up in flames with Yellowstone yet
Err...I'm on an Internship/Co-Op. They have a Three-track system...3 full semesters a year, and I'm on the summer-fall track, so I have this semester off, and I got this co-op.
Thanks! As soon as I get the career, it'll be funding some folding opportunities
Good to know! Always more fun and educational attending a college that hasn't been burned to the ground. I take it that Rexburg is very close to Yellowstone N.P. then?
Guess I can stop clearing my throat/clucking my tongue at you.
Have a great time, dz.
