Gday from Melbourne Australia!
I recently got a 6870 to Crossfire with my 6850, but I seem to be running into BSOD problem every time I launch a fullscreen game

I double/triple checked my other parts for stablity
I also tried driversweeper, but to no avail

0x0000003B
atikmdag.sys

Does anyone else seem to have this problem?

EDIT: Driver used is 10.10, theres no older driver that supports this, nor is there a newer driver released

there is a 10.10 hotfix driver for those at AMD's website, if thats not the one you're using you might want to check it out.

Well I ran the tests, and it seems the 12v rail holds steady if I load both cards independantly, but it simply refuses to work in Crossfire

I did notice between the 2 cards
The 6870 has single crossfire finger point, whilst the 6850 has two of them

Could this have anything to do with the problem?

try a complete driver wipe, and start from the begining, might be some remenants left from the older drivers.

My advice is...better get the same model..Some ppl got tried this matter before..Most of them they do like ETC: 4870X2 CF 4870/4850...
I dont think it can support for those confugiration...

Could it be that you might have to install the 6870 first, without the 50, then decrease the clocks to the speed of the 6850. Then install the 50 without the bridge, let the drivers install automatically, shutdown/install bridge, reboot, and then enable crossfire...

What speeds are you running on the cards now?
Maybe the 6850 can't do the 6870 mhz'z?

I'm sure you googled it but this might be looked at.. http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=260&threadid=104677

Run>Regedit>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet00 1\Control\Class\{4D36E 968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

You will have 0000 folder, 0001, 0002... Disable ULPS in all folders that have it.
Only the 0003 and 0004 had the option in mine.
