Error Message (Page File)

Hey guys. Small problem here.

Just installed W7 Pro (x64) on a new PC with an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD, and to optimize the SSD life span I've taken several steps, including the disabling of the page file. I've done these same steps on the exact same model PC and same SSD a few times now (setting up an office), but for some reason on this one PC I am getting the following error message on boot:

I'm simply looking to disable the message even if its through cmd prompt, reg edit, etc. Some notes:

- The computer has 8gb RAM, so virtual memory *shouldn't* be an issue.

- The page file for the SSD is disabled. Enabling with 0mb storage renders same result.

- The page for for the 300gb USB external backup drive attached to this computer is enabled and system managed @ 8125mb.

- The current recommended size is 12187mb, yet even when I increase the size of the USB external drive to this amount, same result.

- I need to keep the page file enabled for other disks. A RAID 10 HDD setup is going to be set up on this PC at a later date.

I have followed the traditional method of 'Googling it' first, to no avail. As usual, it seems unsurprisingly much easier to just ask on this forum and receive a trustworthy answer :P Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Looks like you're required to disable services you don't need and remove extras from auto-loading. (I like Autoruns for that.)

(And that also means disable Windows Defender and indexing.)

I don't believe that Windows likes that you put the page file on a USB external drive. Disabling it shouldn't give you that message. Try not putting it on the USB external drive.

RJARRRPCGP:
Thanks but I have everything disabled and optimized as needed for the SSD.

Know Nuttin:
That was exactly the problem. The moment I installed and set up the RAID configuration and set the page file for it as system-managed, it dedicated the full 12187mb on it and the message is gone. Thanks for the tip.

If you have the pagefile on an external USB drive, Windows will not have access to it until its loaded pretty much all of its services. This will cause it to think the pagefile doesn't exist when its booting. The pagefile must be located on a permanent drive available while booting.

EDIT* I missed your reply to Know Nuttin, disregard and enjoy!
