AMD Phenom II X4 965 OC barriers

Hey guys, I've gotten my 965 up to 3.92GHz so far, but I can't seem to go any higher. I've heard of people getting up to 4 with it (encountering problems afterwards), but every time I manage to do that, I start getting crashes while playing BF3. I don't think that it's heat issues (I have a Noctua NH-U12P), but I'm not sure because I keep forgetting to run HWID when I'm playing to actually find out.

tl;dr: Have you encountered any OC barriers on this processor?

Don't you have a unlocked multiplier on that chip? If so why use the fsb to overclock when all it does is cause problems with ram/nb it's just easier to bump the multi . If you post a screen if the memory and spd tab on cpuz it will let people know a bit more and they are as important as the CPU tab, you are using a lot of vcore for such a low clock!
Thanks

Yeah, I have a black edition. I just OC'd using the specs that I saw from someone else. As for the Vcore, I was getting bluescreens until I turned it up.

Memory and SPD tabs:

You're vcore is way too high, what temps are you getting when under load ? Also loosen the ram timings to 6-6-6-18-24 as per the jedec for the Kingston @400mhz , and just use the CPU multiplier to oc for now, you're HT wants to be set at 2000(stock) and leave it there, I would lower the vcore to about 1.45 and try a multiplier of 19 at 200(stock) fsb and see how that goes

Yeah, don't use the fsb to overclock. You're making it more difficult. Just use the CPU multiplier and the CPU voltage. As keny said, use the JEDEC #2 timings. Only the 5 listed there + the Command Rate (CR) set to 2 need to be adjusted. Leave the others in bios on Auto.

What are you cooling the CPU with?

My temps under load get up to about 55c, but that's when playing BF3. Thanks for the advice on voltage and stuff.

Duely noted. I'm using a Noctua NH-U12P cooler. How do I go about using JEDEC #2 timing, and changing the CR? Are they just options in the BIOS?

Yes, they're just options in the bios. There should be one master or main Memory timing menu item that is probably set to "Auto" now. When you take it off Auto and Put it to manual you should see the individual timings. There are about 20 of them but only concern yourself with the 5 or 6 that show up in the Memory and SPD (JEDEC columns) in CPU-z plus the CR line item timing which you should set to 2T. The rest just leave on Auto as they are not important.
