It may or may not actually be cheaper, if you're planning a solid copper design making your own may well cost more! Pure copper slugs are expensive suckers! It's totally worth checking out regardless though.

Sounds like I have a weekend project! Aside from making my 2500k beg for mercy, that is. If it turns out well, I'll share the 3D model here so other people looking for cheap, easy pots can get in on it.
