Print a copy of the new layout or keep it on your screen. I had it memorized in a few hours. It is absolutely not worth it to put any money down for this.

I would love to have my own PC at work with a completely blank keyboard in DVORAK. No one would ever log on and screw with it.

I tried typing with a DVORAK layout back in high school. Thats about 8 years ago, and it was pretty hard to learn. But once I did, I really started to see the "potential" for real speed gains versus QWERTY.

May give this a shot again once I get some money.

I'm diggin the layout. Still not good enough to use it at my new job, but definitely appreciating the difference. Been pretty busy the past week so I haven't been able to do much on this keyboard.

(I was with nerdlogic at the time, thus I used her normal screen name to register for the forums...then she started getting active on it & took it over after we broke up...if you're wondering how I was here that long ago....

Hah, nerdlogic, haven't seen her in a while - think she ended up marrying someone else that was also a forum member, and they got all domesticated or developed other interests. Been a while though, memory is fuzzy. Gus was history actually when I registered, hence IMOG -> In Memory Of Gus. He had a heart defect and died about 8 months after I got him. I have posted a few times about him on here though, so thats probably where you read about him. His death was a large reason for my activity here initially, and my demeanor - this place gave me an escape/distraction, and with a username like this, I didn't want to disrespect his memory.

He was a good pig, lot of funs. Glorious Leader - Gus would be proud. lol

My desktop keyboard has blank keycaps... However, I almost failed typing class in elementary school despite having one of the highest WPM in the class. I've never used the proper hand positions to begin with, so I'm not sure how much benefit using a different layout would give me (though it might be funny to have people wonder why the keys I'm hitting on my laptop aren't what's showing up on the screen).

I'll have to try Dvorak out one of these days when I'm real board and the weather is too sucky for hiking. Maybe on May 1st after I get another injection into my left eye. I won't be doing much else that day

Haven't had much time to practice on this layout. I very well can't change my work keyboard...the IT dept would have a fit...It's frustrating to look for keys and type slower, but I hope to get more time next week to practice on it & build my efficiency.

Some guy in my comp sci class was rearranging the keys on his laptop in the middle of class years ago - it was lol worthy. I'm not going to switch because it makes it a nightmare to use other systems. The standard might be inferior, but because it's standard it is worthy keeping imo.
