SET UP LN2 on 7970 help....

OK I will be setting up a 7970 for LN2 runs the question is whats the best way and were from?

Liquid Tape is what I will use complete back of the board but on the front? see pick.

Do I go from white line foward? please add to thread and if you have picks even better!

lookng for the best way to protect the card under LN2.

Have to see what I can do as I stopped at the caps, maybe I can tape off the VRM's and get to there.

Try a dry fit before you do anything.
There is a large gap between my fat and the core.
Otherwise you are going to have a few mm of paste in there and not get good temps.

A good thing you mentioned the SPACE

About 3 to 4 pc. of papper gap! something to consider now, Moocow what did you use to SHIM it with?

I know a bad view will try to get a better one head on to see the gap better

I'm thinking Mickey Givering it with aluminum foil a few folds and it is soft to compress with great transfer of heat/cold.

A small square of 20 gauge copper sheeting, just over the core, would work wonders. At -100C, you're going to want copper there to transfer heat.
