FRONTPAGE How-To: 8 GHz on Bulldozer

Thanks guys. my record is still 7th in the world now. Only a couple people have done better since, and both were done on OLD bulldozers - purchased around the time bulldozer came out. It seems like those making attempts on bulldozers bought later aren't hitting 8GHz very often.

Pretty cool to see 8GHz. Couldn't do much at that frequency other than make a validation, but I was able to run a 10 minute superpi32m run at 7.74GHz - so it was "relatively" stable in benchmarking terms. 7.74GHz is still the fastest frequency anyone has ran superpi32m at, ever.

Don't mean to say that to brag. It's just cool.

Nice work but it is possible to max out all cores @5,5ghz without any voltagetuning..... so id want to say the right board makes the different..!!!!

Asrock 970Extreme4
FX6100
8GB Geill Evolegerra@2133mhz
EVGA Gtx 460 se sc @900,1999
max clock is 6700mhz@72degrees celsius
without extreme voltagetuning

6.7GHz isn't possible at 72C. ;) Did you mean -72C?

If you actually meant 72C, be sure you are using CPUz to read frequencies... If you are seeing 6.7GHz at room temps, you are getting an incorrect reading. ;)
