Please run this Beta on as many platform as possible and post a quick report (with a screenshot if possible), if you find any error or if all goes well @ the Memtest86+ Official forum.

Some tips about failsafe modes at startup :

- F1 : Enter global fail safe, with basic features only
- F2 : Toggle SMP. Will try to activate SMP on systems where SMP is disabled by default (Xeon, Opteron & Engineering Sample CPU) or will disable SMP on all other platforms.
- F3 : Hidden mode. Will use old MP Table instead of modern ACPI MADT Table for SMP initialization.

Thanks for the post Cuda, on a same thing as above what would you think of this as a test for Memory as well?

Saw this the other day and was curious to find out if it would be useful?

It may be.........i wouldn't know.

I've always found it beneficial to test memory before booting into Windows. Saves you hosing your o/s install.

Plus it's kinda hard to test the memory the OS itself is using

I recently tried beta 5.00b3, with an MSI Z68 mobo and Sandy Bridge Celeron G540. it reported tons of errors after test #2, if parallel multicore mode was used. No problem with round robbin or single core modes. It also always worked perfectly with BioStar and ECS G41 mobos equipped with E3x00 Celerons.

Any chance that it might give false detections? I am getting errors on test 10 at 100%, it appears to be the very end of the full test in the last moments. I got 16 errors with 1t setting and atfer changing to 2t got 130. Never had any errors show up in previous memtest or pre windows memory checker. They are running at rated timings except for the 1t which pases 4.02 Memtest.

It seems all my problems with 5.00 Betas 1-4 are with test #3+ and parallel CPU mode. This is with a Z68 mobo.

5.00b6 has been working great. installed NP on a CF card/reader with the thumb app.

is it normal for Test 7/8% to be a 100% for some time while the Test % goes up?

MV-3V4G3D on a Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 / 2500K
ATM testing 2x4GB Samsung (MV-3V4G3D) @ 2133 11 11 11 28 with 1.39V

thank you for Memtest86+! i couldn't imagine my overclocking life without it!

[ edit] ok, i chose test 10 by hitting C. looped seven times without error.
hit C and chose "default tests" hit 0 to continue and got

good 00000000 bad ffffffff ERR-BITS ffffffff

it's a steady stream of errors.

[ edit2] selecting multiple tests "8,9,10" resulted in testing #9, #10 and #11
HTH [/edits]
