Maze3: to Lap or Not to lap?!

I just got my Maze3, is it necessary to lap it to a mirror finish? Will I see any temp drops? thank you for your time.

okey dokey. Do you or anyone have any advice on what sand paper to use to lap it most efficiently? Dry or wet?

most people lap from 600-1000, some even go to 2000.. a lot of people say 2000 for the mirror is too much though. Wet in my oppinion is better

maze3 comes lapped to 600 grit. you shouldnt need to go higher, unless you want to.

Some people have reported temperaure increases if they go finer than 600 grit, but if you decide to lap it, wet sand.

My maze3-1 sure wasn't lapped to 600 grit. It had noticeable machining marks in the copper, and I spent about an hour and a half getting it to a true 600 grit finish. I'm not really complaining though. No block vendor's going to make a profit putting that good a finish on it.
