Yea I like to use heaven just to make sure it can handle it. If it can do that one it should handle the games that I have on there right now.

That's exactly what I use it for too

I was just mentioning so that you'd know things like 3DM05 can be run at higher clocks than your Heaven clocks.

I have a link in my signature. Have fun.

Looks like you're on mobile, we can't see your sig...

Well you have the correct # of posts, what about your e-mail did you sign up with an e-mail addy from your ISP ? Hotmail, GMail won't cut it.

Ok, so putting together a shopping list for my custom loop. Let me know what you guys think and if I should go with a different part than what I pick out.

Case-Corsair Air 540

CPU Block-

360 Rad-

Pump/Res Combo-

GPU Block-??????? can't find one for the R9 270 so this may wait till I upgrade down the road.

Besides random fittings and hose is that pretty much all that goes into a custom loop? Seems like I am missing something. And for fans I plan on going with Corsair SP120's for the radiator.

I think you can do better buying in a kit with the hose, pump, brackets etc all under one part number.

In addition I do not care at all for those blocks with the flimsy looking metal wings for holding down the cpu block. For me they would n0t hold up. I use a lot of clamping force. YMMV.

EDIT:
When you begin talking water cooling > the blocks the rads and on and on, you get so
many ideas/opinions and prospects depending on personal preference to real working
performance. One thing I can assure you is piece by piece you will easily spend $100.00
more. But that extra $100.00 can be worth it if the pump is a monster or the rad is say
cutting edge, but again otherwise kits are better money buys.

What you priced out had no hoses or fans here is a more complete kit.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother water cooling a 270. There is little reason to unless you're just gonna use a universal gpu block and passive sinks. While the 270 is a solid performer, it is easily out performed by say an r9 280x. At that point, it would make sense to liquid cool a 280x. Same with nvidia. I wouldn't bother liquid cooling anything below a gtx 770.

Also EK makes some great stuff. I run EK Amd block and both my gtx 670s have full coverage EK with backplates. That pump res combo is new too. Been looking for something to accommodate a mcp 655 variable for a while. This very well may push me back to liquid.

Rayray that rad at 38 Fpi may not be the best idea, you will need some really good fans to push air through it. I can't find any tests/reviews on them though.

Rgone I have that EK Supremecy block it's not as "flimsy" as you would think. The upside is it's universal to both AMD and Intel, hence the reason I bought it for my benching loop.

OK so now I am confused lol should I go with the all in one unit or piece stuff together? I plan on getting me a better get so in the future I will add another block to it.

I would honestly grab a Swiftech H220-X and when you do add a GPU to the loop you can expand it.

Swiftech designed their kit as a hybrid, so it's an AIO from them and it's expandable.

I guess it's up to you, the kit RGone posted is a decent one but piecing one together like to one you have above will net you better performance, at a cost.

It is not easy to do without having to re-buy too soon...

What the newer user of 'real' water cooling is faced with as outlined in the links below is why I suggested a "kit" that I could live with. If I would not have it...I would not begin to suggest such to anyone.

You can replace xoside with frozencpu or coolerguys or any of a number of other major sites and the various pieces of equipment is almost endless. Mind boggling and even mind numbing at first glance.

To me it is pump first then block and then radiator. I look at it in that manner since the pump must pump enough water or the rest is of little value. I like big pumps. I like moving a goodly amount of water. Then I balance the rest of the pieces into the mix. And the case will have to be really where it can lean toward where in the heck the radiators can be put and if there is room for push-pull fans if needed. The what list is just long and perilous for the beginner. Overcomeable? Well yes but it is not something to just be rushed into or there will be too many compromises and buying again because of road-blocks.
