I have socket939 system that has served me well but after 6+ years it is time for a new build. This is for both work as well as personal usage.

I need to order the parts by the end of this week and I have narrowed down the motherboard to one of the three Gigabyte options. Yes, I know there are higher end enthusiast boards but if I overclock it will be a very conservative overclock.

I have built systems and though I keep up with tech I have not paid much attention per se when it comes Z77 motherboards except recently. Any help/advice will be most appreciated.

* Gaming, Word Office, some Video Rendering, along with email and internet surfing will be its primary functions. I'll be running a single video card. Since my budget is limited I've selected the following to consider:

Thanks

Either a) I placed my inquiry in the wrong forum and should have placed in the General one or b) I worded my inquiry wrongly.

So let me ask it this way, of the three I listed which one would you recommend and why? Thanks again.

Thanks Reaver22 for your response; it is much appreciated. Like you I too believe the motherboard is a really important part of my build. I am looking for both function and quality but I don't need all the "bells and whistles" so to speak. Reliability is what I am searching for.

Thanks again for your input. :)

BAM! I like this comparison better. from the provided details it is hard to see that there is any difference in the boards. the 145$ board seems to offer the most features of the non-UD boards. I personally like the UD (ultra durable) boards, I've had good experiences but then you're stepping up to $160ish. gigabyte does claim that all of the boards use UD4, so mayb there is no need to step up. the only difference I can see for the boards you listed, as the price goes up you get more USB3.0/SATAIII ports. if you want to be cheap, go with the $120 (not the $115); otherwise I like the $145 and $160 options form gigabyte too. Since you're stepping up to z77, I would try to get the most out of a Z77 board and go with the $160. It offers lots of features, including SLI pcie3.0. I find it is best to step in to the middle of the market, z77 mobo range from $100-$350; so enter around $150. that way you're not losing features or buying cheap stuff, yet you didn't blow $300 for features you'll never need. :)
