Ok im lookin at a new gpu, and iv heard good things about both the 6600 and the 9800pro, which are similar price.

which performs better?

i would go nvidia ... but thats just me ... maybe go all out and save a little more and get a 6800 and flash it ..

Get a Saphire 9800 Pro (256MB/256bit) and flash it too a XT. Those are real 9800 XT's reflashed to 9800 Pro's...

Get A 6600 GT a 9800pro just doesnt compare to it

Yeah, the 6600 GT should spank the 9800 Pro (or even XT) in most everything. If I were buying a new video card right now (not that I've got the money), that's what I'd go with.

I would go with newer Video Card which is 6600GT

i am an ATi fan and yes - get the 6600 card - i think it has been shown to give the 9800PRO a run for it's money.

Get a 6600Gt not a regular 6600. The 6600GT performs a bit better then the 9800 Pro.

Ok so most of u say 6600 go for. Now, HOW MUCH difference is ther? does one perform better in certain games? or is it overal ownage for the 6600 (maybe gt as well)

I loved Nvidia before. However, I switched to ATI and I can safely say I won't be going back anytime soon.

The 6600GT whoops a 9800XT pretty bad in games like Doom3.

6600gt gets my vote, they are very few tests where a 9800pro will beat it. And make sure its a 6600GT, not a 6600.

I agree w/ most of everyone here get the 6600gt. Or better yet save up some more skins and get a 6800 nu and softmod.

yes after lookin at those graphs, the 6600gt owns the 9800xt at pretty much everything...
Im just wondering, can the 6600 be flashed to a gt ?

i would defiently wait or save more though.. you wont be disapoinbted at all.. although you wouldnt probably be in the 6600 but the 6800 runs 256 bit and man does it smoke !!

I sure wouldn't count on it. I think only a real GT has DDR3 memory.

and i could be wrong but i dont think you can flash a 6600 to a gt ...

and as posted before if going with the 6600 line i woulg defiently get the GT model
