Hello guys, and maby girls.

I have a little quastion, atleast i hope its a little one.
Sinds a week a have a older cpu/socket in my pc, the i7 975 extreme on a asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo.
I,m not a compleet newbie at overclocking but my experiance is on ivy and sandybrige, so 1366 socket is new for my.
I overclocked this cpu before till 4.0ghz just true the multiplier, but after some reading in english what is not my best language, i overclocked it to 4.1 but this time by raising the bclk.
so i whant love to now are the settings oke that i did, or do you have some advice for my.

This are the settings i did in the bios, what i don,t write down is on auto or default settings.

my mem is acording the specs 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 1.65v
but as i give that in then it dont work.

A.I overclock tuner manual.
cpu ratio 21.
bclk 195
speedstep/turbo/cpu spread spectrum/cie state all disabled.
dram freq 1563mhz.
uclk 3127mhz.
qpi link data 7038mt/s
cpu vcore 1.3125.
cpu pll 1.88
qpi/dram core voltage 1.31875
llc auto
cpu different amp is left on auto.

Thats it, i did run a prime95 test for 30 minutes and the highest temp was 74 degrees.

IS THIS OKE.

tips are very welkom.:)

O and i,m on air, my cooler is a thermalright silver Arrow, and my case the cooler master haf X

Please add CPU-z tabs: Memory and SPD to your pics. The information contained only in the CPU tab doesn't tell us all we need to know, even though you supplied much of it in text.

And please use HWMonitor (nonpro version) instead of Real Temp. It will give much more info than Real Temp. Prime95, HWMonitor and CPU-z are the standard software tools we use here on the forum.

Welcome aboard!

oke did another run, not as long as before, but thats because i run it already longer at these settins, now i just used the programma,s asked.

Try a clock of 4.27GHz (QPI of 178 x 24), w/ Vcore set to 1.45v and CPU PLL at 1.9v. Also bump IOH to 1.34v and the ICH to 1.4v. Set the UCLK to 3,390MHz and the memory bus to 6,424MT/s at a DRAM frequency of DDR3-1427 (2:8 FSB : DRAM ratio).

but what is the max temp for this cpu, while stress test, and i whant to use a 24/7 overclock he, i can bench at 4.3 1.320 vcore

but what is the max temp for this cpu, while stress test, and i whant to use a 24/7 overclock he, i can bench at 4.3 1.320 vcore

at 1.4vcore i boot without any problem in windows at 4.5ghz.
and can stuff also.

67.9°C Tcase max and 100°C Tj max.

Oke but what temp i have to keep in my eye then?

the core temps, in hwmonitor or the cpu thin?

i,m on the settings now that you gave me
issent a vcore of 1.45 to high???

so these setting give me to high temps

I find that Bloomfield temps with overclocks of 4.4GHz(+) are hard to keep manageable under stress load...

You could try something like... 21x200= 4.2GHz with 17x uncore (3400MHz) and 4x Dram (2:8) 800MHz/DDR3-1600 8-8-8-24 (1.65v)

Vcore range... 1.325v/1.35v/1.375v
VTT/(QPI/DRAM) range... 1.30v/1.325v/1.35v

Oke still dont now if its stable, but i did a prime95 test with this settings.
I forgott the spd and mem tab but the specs of the mem are still running at 800mh(1600) and timmings are 9-9-9-24

21x200
cpu vcore in bios at 1.35625
uclk at 3400
qpi/dram 1.325v
cpu pll 1.9v
IOH at 1.3
ICH at 1.4

tips to get the temp down are very welkom.
