gigabyte mult switches dont add up

the manual for my 7dxr has a nice little chart that i've included below, the only thing is this chart is for a board that has only 5 switches, my board has 6.

i was using a 6.5 mult which on the board was
X X X O X X
thru playing with them i got to 7
O O O O X X

but after this point following the chart and guessing for the first or last one wont work.
i've toured around the gigabyte site and cant find any info other than the manual i have sitting here. has anyone here figured this out?

to go to 7.5 the pattern should be XOOXX, i've tried:

X | X O O X X = doesnt post
O | X O O X X = doesnt post
X O O X X | X =1000 MHz
X O O X X | O =1000 MHz
