Just wondering if this was possible or how it could be done?
Ive got a microsoft sidewinder usb controller, among others any chance of getting this to replace a mouse? Anyone actually done this before?

Do you mean to use it as a cursor in Windows? Or just for playing a game?

If it's for the game you should be able to find a settings menu somewhere that lets you use the controller instead of keyboard/mouse controls.

As for the normal Windows use... I know that ATI has a remote which can be used as the mouse with a d-pad, so the technology for it to work certainly exists. It's just a matter of finding the right software to enable it. I haven't seen anything like this but perhaps someone knows of something.
