Laptop ram

A friend of mine recently got a new HP Pavilion dv9000 and it only has one gig of ram in it. He has vista on it and would like to get more ram to help take care of the memory needs of vista. Does anyone know what type of ram it requires and how many gigs it can support? He doesn't have any of the information from when he got it. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Yea, you're going to need the exact model #, maybe serial #, and any other info directly off the laptop. Then you should be able to look up detailed info on HPs website.
