Use to build and tweak systems along with hanging out here but its been a couple years since I really spent time at it and it looks like I have been left behind Anyway I was thinking about upgrading my asus ti4800 se card which has served me well for years. Current system is in sig along with a 19" LG LCD 4ms monitor. I do more photoshop stuff than game now so I don't plan on a new rig until this one stops doing what I need it to do. Just wondered how this card compares to the ti4800 I have? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150166

Well, there is no point in getting the 512mb version, because with only a 128-bit memory interface and being GDDR2, the card will never utilize that much VRAM, IMO a 7600GS is a waste of money.

I would say the 6800XT would be your best bet, also you should look into another 512mb of RAM for your system.

I know your replacing a very old card and anything would be an improvement, but that 7600GS is a total waste of money, like I said you will never totally utilize it's VRAM.

the question is if you want to upgrade your whole system in the near future?
otherwise a 6800series card would be a good choice, if you can get a good deal;)
