I switched motherboards today, and in the process I must of knocked off tiny tiny transistors on the underside of my i7 2600 K... Are there any services that can fix this or is this just a dead processor now?

I would post a picture, but I can't figure out how to do that using the mobile app for this website

It may not be a dead processor. I damaged chips on a 940BE and it seemed to have no ill effect. I've also seen chips on s775 processors missing and still a working Cpu.

I'd say you have a 50/50 chance that cpu will post. Stability will be found through use and testing.

Now I'm not telling you to try the cpu as there is always a chance to take out the motherboard.

So trying to use the cpu is at your own risk.

OK I can say NVM cause I just read your thread in the motherboard section.....

Many bummers.
