So with all you see here. What would you recommend as a power supply without going overboard?. i just want to be able to play games and stuff. I am not going to overclock anything. Please help. the PSU and the Graphics card is my last 2 thing i have to buy then im set. Recommendations? Is this a Good Setup so far?

Also since im new to building a computer. once i boot up the system, is it hard to set UP bios and load drivers? I just learned what bios were so pretend i dont know what im doing when giving advice. HA

Corsair 550VX would be plenty.

If you are not overclocking, you dont need to touch the bios. ANd you install drivers in Windows. Just find them (download for manuf website) or from the disc that came with your motherboard. DONE.

Thank you very much. I will look into Corsair 550VX . I just didnt want to get like a 750watt if i didnt need to. If anyone else has any more input please share. otherwise i will buy this PSU Soon.

would the corsair 650tx be better?

Thank you all very much. I think i might go with the 650 just to have for possible future upgrades. Now that i have all my parts coming. the only other thing i am worried about is bios. Im new to all of this and dont know what i need to do.

Do i need to change any of the bios? or just leave everything alone and ill be fine? i dont want to mess anything up after spending almost a grand on this computer.

I read somthing somewhere , like you have to disable The IDE if your not using it and other hardware if your not using it. If so i dont even know how to do that.

Can anyone direct me to a good link about bios that might have a step by step process to guide me through it?

This is about all that i can find so far. Kinda wish it was more indepth

Hes got some other good videos like this which helped me
im just still confused about if it matters which sata port you plug your hard drive and opitcal drive into. my motherboard has 5 sata ports. so does the hard drive need to plug into sata port 1 or would it still work in sata port 4 or 5.

Generally speaking you can leave the BIOS alone and everything will work. We tweak the BIOS (turn some things off or change settings) because it makes the machine a little more efficient but there are millions who have never opened a BIOS screen and their computers run fine. ;)

Some boards require you to go into BIOS to tell the board whether you're running SATA or IDE on ports 1&2. Some boards require you to Enable ports 3, 4, 5, etc. in BOIS and some don't need that. It all depends on the BIOS and it's why BIOS guides on-line are few because they can vary so much from board to board, sometimes even from one BIOS update to another. The best thing you can do is read your motherboard manual. If your board didn't come with a manual, you can download it at the ASUS website. That will tell you everything you need to know about your BIOS and board to get started.

The TX is alright, but according to reviews I read when shopping for my PSU there is a difference between the HX series and TX series when it comes to heat produced, efficiency, voltage ripple, etc. The HX520 is great but I would have to go with EarthDog on this one, vx has 6 sata connectors, auto voltage sensing, 41 amps on a single 12v rail (no worries on load balancing) and is made by CWT, right up there with Seasonic who manufacture the HX series. Same warranty and efficiency rating too. Just not modular.

If your going for the 650TX I would pay the extra $10 and get the HX650, better warranty, runs cooler and better reviews in hardware sights.

Asfar as bios, you should be good with just a few things to do, your mb manual will cover most of that. I have the ripJaws G.Skill ram and I had to manually set my timings and voltage in the bios to run it at SPD but I set it once saved the profile and never had to mess with it again. AMI bios BTW, not sure what your board is.
