why do they even MAKE Powerhead 1200's!!??

Man!, I'm currently leaktesting a rig to go in my mates...err rig. Well anyway, left it for a couple of hours and got back to find the water is really warm. I know these things get hot whilst running inline, but I had no idea they're as temperately challenged when submerged as this one is!
I'm off to the local pet store tommorow to purchase a second DANNER MAG......That'll put some hairs on his rigs chest.
Its well bleedin' noisy too.

happens with __any__ pump.

if you run the pump without running the fans, there is no way for energy to leave the system but new energy is pumped in all the time.. simplified: the energy used to move the water turns into heat.
