I have bought ASUS CUV4x-E motherboard and Celeron 800 MHz processor (100 Mhz bus).
Installed processor and fan, no memory. Long beeps, meaning memory not detected.
Added 256 M memory, no video card. Long beep with two short ones, then after a short pause endless loop of short beeps.
One long and two short probably mean video card not detected, although manual states it should be long + 3 short ones.
Added video card. Endless loop of short beeps .................
NOTHING on the screen.
Manual says "High frequency beeps when system is working -
CPU overheated System running at a lower frequency"
But during POST ?!! What could be the reason?
Running jumper free mode, all switches OFF.
Heatsink and fan in place.
