Busted speakers on laptop, need alternative way for sound...

I have a laptop at work that I use which recently had its speakers go out. They just basically make the crackling noise when ever I play any sound. I've tried uninstall - reinstall with the drivers with the current and latest but nothing works. I also tried system restore but that doesn't help either. My headphone jack also is not working. When I plug in the headphone I don't hear the crackling noise, instead there is just no sound at all.

Is there like a USB Speakers or Headphones that I can purchase which use standalone driver or something like that which I can purchase to use for sound since it looks like the sound card on this laptop has gone bad?
