Could you consider Response Rate similar to Ping?

Could you say that something like a 5ms Response Rate is similar to have 5 more ping than usual?

Say my ping on a game is about 20 and I have a monitor with a 5ms Response rate. Is that that same as saying my monitor responds instantly with a 25 ping?

Just a really noob question, but seems the most logical.

Thanks!

Network ping and response rate are two, totally different, things.

The advertised response rate of monitors today are pretty useless as they are generally Gray to Gray (GTG) ratings. Response rate is used to determine how quickly a monitor can switch colors. A quicker rate will feel more snappy and be less blurry.

Network response time is how quickly (time wise, not throughput) data is transmitted between your computer and the server or another computer. Lower times mean actions are registered quicker on the server and you will have updates quicker.
