is it possible to record pay-per-view movies with the all-in-wonder and descramble them?

the reason i am asking is a friend of mine just got one for christmas and he wants to be able to record shows movies ect.

anyone with a tv-tunner or aiw is welcome to give some advice.
thanks ahead of time.

The only way to do it would be to connect the AIW to the cable output from the descrambler (split the cable that now goes to the TV from the descrambler box). You would then have to leave the AIW set to record channel 3 at the desired time AND leave the descrambler box/cable tv tuner powered on, on the pay per view channel.

The biggest drawback of setting it up that way is that you will not be able to change the channels from the AIW itself, you will have to change channels from the descrambler/cable tv tuner.

If he has digital cable then he can use the svideo out from the digital cable box/descrambler to record whatever channel the digital cable box is on and still have a regular cable line connected to the AIW to watch/record regular cable (not any digital channels).
