"Application layer gateway services," what is it? i found out it is trying to send something back to M$, and i not so sure if it is safe to disable it or not. thanz for the help in advance.

"Application Layer Gateway Service" provides support for 3rd party protocol plug-ins for Internet Connection Sharing & the Internet Connection Firewall. If you have Internet Connection Sharing & the Windows XP built-in firewall enabled set this to Automatic, otherwise leave it set to Manual.
