have dvd player but no software.

I am trying to find dvd software for a freind who lost his hard drive to a virus and now needs softwarew for his dvd player. where can i find a free program for him?

I think WINDVD is free and I think it comes with some windows OS. You just need a hardware level decoder.

what OS is your friend using?

if it's xp, you can use WMP to play dvd's, you just need a codec.
which you can get buy installing any trial version of any dvdplayer.
