Avast Free edition

Hey ppls juss wondering who uses the free AVAST anti virus , is it good and is it better than AVG ??

I use avast and avg. I have never had any problems with either, but I prefer to use avg. I feel like it takes longer for my pc to load up and I use more system resources with avast. I have not confirmed this with task manager, but this is just my personal feeling.

adaware

I disable all the crap in services though so none of it runs on boot.

If i'm online looking for porn or keys then I turn them on

I just run scans at least once a week

I use Avast on most of my PCs. In particular I like the option to set AVAST as the screensaver so that when it kicks on it scans the computer, lot easier to get people to run a Virus scan if you just tell them to walk away from the computer and leave it on. The former method of setting up a schedule usually resulted in the PC not being on when scheduled or "I was in the middle of something so I canceled it", thus never running it.

AVAST is a really nice program. I find it to be a bit of a hog compared to my NAV corporate, but it's a great freebe.

I've had avast catch things much quicker than AVG did. I use avast free addition on all my PCs. Now, if only they had a free server addition..

I use avast, and it's great. Never had one problem with it.
