We have a user whose documents keep disappearing, we have to keep restoring it from shadowcopy. It seems to happen sometime during logon or thereafter. Shadowcopy is made at 7 which contains the documents and they are gone after the user has logged on. Any idea what could be causing this?
 
The user can save delete and modify, so i would think that permissions are fine. this is the same documents folder on the file server that the user had while using an XP machine.
 
its not just some files, the entire documents folder is gone from the network
 
Different issue then. You've dropped a .dll it sounds like. If the user has the capability to save on their local PC then linking that activity to the file server shouldn't be troublesome. But the file server needs to be aware that the "My Documents" folder is being transcribed and it sounds like that isn't happening.
