Sup guys, first post here, I am looking to build a 24/7 with a budget of around $1500 USD. (around $9000 HKD) Just want to see which i5 chip I should be getting, I have no idea which is better than which, and would like some pointers.\\

thanks.

If you want push the boat out here the i5-3570k and a ASROCK Z77 Extreme 6 would be a great match. The first 2 posts shows you the prices plus Discounts and Free Shipping. AJ.

The last 2 posts, one is a recent OC Review of the 2 motherboards we are recommending to you. The other shows various stats on the CPU your asking about!

With that budget, why not i7 (3770K)?

Also, any carry over parts (monitor/keyboard/mouse), what about a monitor? What do you need to buy with that budget? What are your uses for this PC? What resolution is the monitor you are using (if you play games)?

my 3570k/asus maximus v gene has done me very very well, I highly recommend the combo but I haven't tried any of the new asrock boards so I cant say which is better but all I know is asrocks old boards man did me so dirty. good bang for buck if your trying to spent alot on gpu and drives ect but id say with 1500 go 3770k as my build had a $1000 budget or I would have gotten a 3770k myself.

thanks man all valuable info.

question here then becomes, is there an observable speed difference between say

1, 3770k
2, 2500k
3, 3570k ?

i be doing the shopping tomorrow morning, any inputs will be super!
merry x'mas folks

Realistically, if its socket 1155 and K seres(can be overclocked) any of them are good. Unless you have a particular need to have 8 threads available dont even bother with the I7. Best of luck in your acquisitions!
