Mmmmm :soda:

this card is worth 225 tops, its only a c-hair faster in some things at best than a $175 4890 .... i am being quite liberal with the 225 also, i had all these cards and i wouldnt pay that for it. Now a gtx 260 216 core at 125 bux now thats worth its weight in gold and not much slower than 280/285

Uhm, the 4890 is also a ripoff compared to the 4870. There's always a premium to be paid for having the best.

lol thats fine keep rationilizing your purchase. i disagree with you as usual. 4890 and gtx 260 are the only cards to own right now.

I fixed that for you. The GTX 275 and HD 4890 are both priced much higher than the performance gains over the GTX 260 and HD 4870 1GB would lead one to believe.

edit: Just checked Newegg. Cheapest 4890 is $180 after mail in rebate. Cheapest 4870 1GB is $125 after rebate. Nearly 50% more money for about 10% more performance at most. Pfft.

Cheapest GTX 260 is $145 after rebate, cheapest GTX 275 is $210, with or without rebate. Again, pfft.

GTX 260 and 4870 1GB are much better values.

There is much more difference to 4890 over 4870 then just at least 15% performance increase , its also more power efficient at idle and at load despite higher clock and is worth the price premium over 4870 . If you really want a deal on one of these just wait until ATI's DX11 cards hit , NV will be in panic :D

Yep, the 4870/90 cards are the best right now! Massive performance for low low cost. Nvidia can't beat it for the price they are charging.

NOPE.

Is this a good deal for a GTX285 Who cares whuts more valueable than others, people still buy the I7 extreme edition and overclock it to lvls that a 920 could get to...

Its a decent price but I bought both of mine for $300 each on sale in March.. I don't get why the price has yet to really drop, I guess they are waiting on DX11 cards.

It's still the fastest single GPU out there. Historically, those have cost a good bit more than $300..
