Hello All,

Just signed up for Ting after my iPhone kicked the bucket. Had an old EVO 4G sitting around not getting used, so I activated it on Ting. I'm going to try to minimize texting, use Google Voice, use alternative SMS programs where I can, and stay on Wi-Fi whenever possible. With all of this, I'm hoping to get my bill down in the $20-30 range.

My question is, what types of settings can I use to minimize active syncing, email checking, etc when on 3G/4G? Is there a way to turn on background Syncing when on Wi-Fi and off when on the Network?

Even if there's a guide on some other site that you find particularly helpful, a link would be great :)

See, now I feel foolish. In "Accounts and Sync" in Settings, there is a literal checkbox for "Background Data"...

Thanks
