well i got a 8500DV it was crippled from the beggining with slow *** 5ns ram

it's prob the oldest/slowest part of my comp...

i score in the 8,500+ 3dmarks...

i was thinking of selling it, and grabbing the 9700 pro oem, which will cost me roughly half after selling my old card.....

and then i should score in the 12k ball park range...
so it would be about a 50% performance increase...

u think it's worth it? or should i wait some more?

opnions?

I believe it only has 1 rendering pipeline.... vs the Pro's 2... That's why the non-Pro isn't worth it IMO.

The 9700, and 9700 Pro are exactly the same card, just lower clock speeds (thus the reason ATi locked overclocking in the BIOS, but thats been cracked already :) ). They both a an 8x1 architecture.

If you could get a good price for your old card sell it and get a new one if it doesn't brake you.
