Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on the following system:

Asus M3A78-T, 250GB Samsung SATA HDD, Lite-on CD/DVD SATA drive, 4GB RAM.

This printer worked fine on an XP system, and I did find proper Win7 drivers from HP. Problem is...the install fails close to the end. I'm able to install it through Windows, but it wants the original install CD (which doesn't work as it was designed for an XP/Vista system). I've tried all the troubleshooting steps HP recommends and can't get anywhere.

Here's a screenshot of the error I get from HP.

I did find a bare-bones driver, but it seems like that is also designed for Vista and below, so it doesn't work either. Home Premium doesn't have compatibility mode, so that's not an option.

Any ideas?

Did you re-download the driver? Sounds more like it was corrupt.

This isn't the place to ask if it's a device specific issue or a driver-to-device specific issue, though. You'd have more luck on an HP or printer forum.
