When I startup the Via Hardware Monitor System V2.04,
and I look at the Vcore value, i see it going up and down
sometimes, from 1.82 to 1.81 and back....
This happens even when i do nothin at all.
I just start up the program, and watch it.

What does this mean? Is my psu to weak? Can this be a bad thing,
or maybe cause crashes? Or is it just the via-program that isn't perfect?

Also, when I i.e. klick on a window, and move it around a bit,
i see the 5V value goes from 5.09 to 4.98-4.95V, and i can hear my
120mm fans slowing down a bit. (the sound changes)

If it is a psu problem, which psu can be reccomended?
Is the 330W enermax good enough, or schould i go for a bigger one?

I have a standard (no brand) 300W psu.
Tbird 1000@1200 with Alpha pep66+delta+arctic silver
Abit KT7A
Hercules gts2 pro 64mb
sblive+digital interface card
ISA scanner card SCSI
seagate barracuda II 20gb 7200rpm
pioneer dvd & sony cdrw
2 casefans 120mm at 7V and a neon light kit at 12V

I don't think it's a problem - I see the same thing, my core voltage varies between about 2.256 and 2.272. As long as your system's stable, I shouldn't worry about it - it's certainly not worth the cash for another psu.

thanks for the advice,
but ill think i'm going to look out for a stronger psu anyway
since i'm planning of adding some more 120mm fans

Ps. I usually run my fans at 7V instead of the normal 12V (between yellow and red), you know.... at 12V it's a bit to loud ;-)
Can this add to this problem? (the fans slowing down a bit I mean)

Actually I'd probably better modify my earlier comment. I had been seeing random crashes in games over the last few weeks, which I think I've now solved by upping the vcore from 2.2 to 2.27V. Even at 2.27V though, it's varying wildly between 2.2 and 2.27V - so I guess when at 2.2 it was probably dipping down to nearer 2.1 occasionally, causing the crashes. My 300W psu is a cheap no-name one, so I'd probably better change it. What with my 3 120mm case fans, 2 optical drives, 1 hard drive and all the other bits (not to mention a cpu running at 2.27V from a default of 1.6!), I think it's struggling a bit. Doh! Now I've gotta spend money :(

Basically MFK you're right, it probably is better to be safe than sorry and get a beefier psu.

what do you think of the Enermax 431W EG451P-VE powersupply?
I'm thinking about buying this one.

But the question is: will it solve the fluctuations of the voltage??
I've heard about people with an 330W Enermax that have even bigger
fluctuations than I have! Will the 431W Enermax be better a it?
