Hi, I posted this problem on the Head fi forums a few hours ago, So i'm trying to see if i'll get more responses here, This is my setup below etc.
I have Astro A40's along with the Mixamp 2013 edition, I do alot of gaming mainly Counter strike GO on PC, So I realised that I diden't have a soundcard to run the 5.1 signal "Dolby digital live" <-- Btw which part of hardware needs this? The headset or Mixamp? Anyway, I read more into this and came across numerous sources / complaints about Dolby Digital Live at first I thought it must have been faulty Soundcards etc, But no, There is actually a delay in sound with this Dolby Digital Live so now i'm pretty upset that I won't be able to get Surround sound through my Mixamp and to my headset without a delay As greatly need good positional sound.
Here is a couple of scenarios to get around this Dolby Digital live problem.
Do I replace the headset or Mixamp with something else another type of virtual surround sound Xear 3d?
Do I get a new pair of Headphones mainly the AKG Q701 or Phillips Fidelio X1 with a DAC and AMP?
I'm not sure what a DAC does but I know an amp basically highers the volume? I would really like surround sound but if that's a problem that I need this Dolby Digital Live i'd rather just go full-out Stereo with no delay.
Thanks for reading help is greatly appreciated.
