I'm trying to build a product that identifies each time a particular body is going up and down ...
The body moves up and down (like an elevator) on a fixed track.
The idea right now is to take arduino and connect to it a magnetic sensor(this part does not move, it will be placed in a fixed place- at the highest place that the elevator can reach to), also put on the body (the elevator) a magnet .. so every time the elevator will finish going up and start going down - the sensor will detect.

Importantly, the sensor and the magnet will not reach the state they are touching each other and probably a minimum distance between them should be 5-10 cm ...
Can you help me decide what sensor can fit me ..

Mor :)

yes... I opened a new thread because of a big change in the characterization of the product
