Question about Steam (i'm a Steam n00b): when you want to get a bunch of steam friends to play, what do you do? Do you contact your steam friends or create a steam lobby and invite people and THEN launch the game? Just wondering how I would go about finding out which of my contacts are available to play and setting up the game and all that. Thanks!

Got my own steam community going to use my left 4 dead server.
Everyone is free to use the server who joins my community (i just made it for community so it's not full 24/7)

Instructions on how to connect your lobby to my server is on teh front page of my community page. Just send me a friend invite.

But as i said free to anyone to use. Once u get your friends into a lobby you can just set the game to public then to fill the rest of the slots and they will be able to join then.

I play too much TF2. I'll hop on CS:S if somebody invites me to a game. I haven't played in a long time though.
