*Edited title: New gaming PC 600~800U$: FX8350 or i5 4430? Need build too

Greetings all!

I need a new computer for gaming (max settings with BF4 and new games), but I can't decide if I go with Intel or save some money with AMD. So can you guys help me with a config, please? My budget range: 600 ~ 800 U$.

What I've on my mind right now (Intel build):

Or should I go with an AMD FX8350? Will it cost less but with almost same performance? Can you guys suggest me an AMD build?

The more I can save (U$), the better (best cost x benefit).
I'll appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Hi and welcome to O/C Forums :welcome:

That intel chip is not a "K" series, and if you plan on overclocking, you will not be able to as the non "K" chips are locked. I would ditch that MSI board and go with an ASRock for best bang for the buck. MSI has a blemished reputation.

However, to run stock speed and just game, it looks to be a nice setup.

Thanks both for replies.

I'm living in Japan right now but the prices here are almost the same as USA so I'm using USA shops for pricing (and I can use my friend to import for me from USA too).

I was thinking about a i4690 combo but the price isn't good for my budget range.
So can I go with i4430? (I'll not overclock) or AMD will be stronger?

If you decide to go with an AMD based rig, and want to use that cpu, you cannot cheap out on the motherboard, even if you run it without an oc.

4430 will spank a STOCK 8350. However, 8350's aren't much for the "budget friendly" because you really kinda need a good, strong almost 200$ motherboard to overclock the crap out of it.

In games, the 4430 would be akin to a moderately overclocked 8350, your GPU would be more of the factor there. For stability, ease of use, no nonsense gaming build, the 4430 is a vastly superior choice over the 8350 offerings. Literally plug it in and play, no tweaking, no crap to deal with, no ridiculous thermal limits.

A 4690k is obviously a superior choice, but it comes with a "superior" price too :D for 800, its hard to recommend an overclocking i5 setup and still get you into a good graphics card.

Thanks very much everybody for your replies. You guys helped me a lot.
And I changed the build again and bought this today:

I bought everything here in Japan (online store) for a total amount of U$ 946,00 (it was going to be around U$ 840 but I decided to buy only from one store).

Thanks again.

I disagree with your choice to buy an SSD. Sure, it loads Windows faster, loads levels in games faster, but honestly, on a $800-900 budget, you want to put more money towards your CPU/GPU/RAM than you do anything else. I would have gotten at least an R9280X (note the X) vs the regular 280. I don't like your choice of motherboard. Very cheap. Should be ok for what you're doing but I never like to go that cheap. Regardless, this should be a relatively high performance build and you should enjoy it. Don't expect to be maxing every game out with 16Xaa/AF and stuff like that but it will provide a very acceptable gaming experience.

Personally I would have steered you towards no SSD, an FX6300, and a more powerful GPU but you should be happy with this. Post pictures here once you put all the parts together.
