Yes, we have a World Record on HWBOT for OC Forums with my i7-930 on a $30 cooler.

Well, that's enough of WRs. 4200MHz is an optimal setting for me with HT enabled and Turbo disabled.

4 cores 8 threads
Vcore: 1.35625
...................Idle: 1.344 = 166 watts
Load P95 sFFTs: 1.360 = 370 watts

Thanks Brutal.
Hic...this thing sucks power more than twice as much compare to my i3s
On the bright side, it's not as bad as comparable to Q6600 @ 3800MHz

Haha seriously, that is a lot of voltage, what kind of temps you get during that superpi run?

And good job on yet another cpu bench!

Thanks guys,
Idle cores were from 40~45º....not too bad with less cores....but still required plenty of voltages.....
I didn't monitor during SuperPI 32M run....which might have cause a slow down.
But I recalled that they were fine around mid 60º for 1M run.
If it was too hot...you'll know right away as you watch SuperPI times slow down.

.....and you thought 1.62v was high?.......see this suicidal shot for CPUZ....... over 2GHz overclocked on air with 1.64v. :)

Not bad Sam. I just ordered some Super Talent Hyper ICs. Gonna see if I can get some better numbers out of mine.

Oh man it's beautiful! Congrats on the record setting Sam!

Thanks bro.

:) Yes, a friendly challenge would be nice... I would like to see you beat that SuperPi 32M. I'm thinking of changing the VX cooler over that $30 cooler real soon. Eventhough, I don't think it would make much of a difference.
That $30 Raidmax is a blast.
HyperX T1 that I have is not best since it is rated at CL9...but 6GB for $180+tax is affordable and done the job nicely.

....oh BTW, while running wPrime1024M @ 4448MHz with 4 cores 8 threads....it sucked over 600 WATTs :bang head

nice work, nothing like some throw down on the competition

Impressed the hell outta me!

Can't wait to see how far I can take my amazing Q9550!

I have to ask, I know you don't game Sam (sorry that this is a bit off topic) so why do you overclock? Besides for the sheer fun of it of course :)

Video encoding perhaps?

Also my friends soon, soon that money comes in :D I know it's been a few months I've been saying that now but the grant has to be here in about 2-3 weeks I believe. When it shows up I'd like to come back and start talkin' about my new build, maybe get into some competitive benching :)

He just joined the benching team, so that's probably why :D

You should join us too Ronbert, it's a whoooooole new world.
Don't have to wait hours to find out if an OC is "stable" or not. If it finishes the benchmark it's good enough!

I dont game either, hence me not having high end hardware. But the benching is Huge fun.

I definetly going to join just not while I have this E5200, I'm going to wait till I get my i5 750 and then join up :)

I love my E5200 but the mobo and set up I have just isn't decent enough to compete :fight:

Sure it is! I used an e5200 for my early stuff.

the thing is you want points from every cpu and video card you can get your hands on. points are nice but cumulative points are where its at
