Finally upgraded to IE9 (from IE8) and all issues disappeared:

  • Social buttons (Diggs & Twitter) finally disappeared upon "checkoff" in UserCP options.
    They wouldn't go away with IE8 and their scrips were a slowdown.
  • Terrible timeouts also disappeared too. I have no idea why this was
    occuring with IE8 so there ARE a few conflicts for anyone still using IE8
    or earlier. I imagine the latest Chrome would be trouble-free also.
