CPU Type: Intel Celeron 460 ES @ 3.2 GHz
VCore: 1.375v (according to cpu-z)
Max Temp: 93C
Cooling: Thermalright SI-128 running fanless...and no case fans (except the PSU's fan)
Situation: What program were you running? I was crunching SETI@home in the background
Summer or Winter, re-seated HS? Early July, ambient temps in the 70s-80s; heatsink had not been reseated in at least 200 hours, thus the AS5 was cured.
CPU dead or alive: Alive and doing well.

CPU Type:Intel E6550 @4.0GHz
VCore:1.45v
Max Temp:95c/93c
Cooling:TRUE 120 Fanless
Situation:Forgot to plug in fans, Prime95 running for 48 fours (at that temperature)
CPU dead or alive: Alive, and posting this reply from it!

* CPU Type: AMD Athlon XP 2200+ OCed to 1.93 Ghz

* VCore: 1.778v

* Max Temp: 65c

* Cooling: Stock HS and fan, 2 case fans

* Situation: Currently operating w/ Skype video call in progress and Mozilla with 6 tabs open. It's summer in central FL and I have no A/C at the moment so room temp is 76F

* CPU dead or alive: alive

Keep in mind that I am a newbie. If anyone has any pointers for me on how I can get more out of this CPU please let me know. Or even any good tips to go by.

48c on my amd 550 it was at 4.1 ghz
since then the temps here in the desert have gone up so i lowered it to 3.8 to be safe

It's not CPU, but my old 8800GT ran at 120 degrees C idle, 145 load for a couple of weeks while I was bidding on a GTX 295 on ebay. Something was clearly wrong with it - the fan was at full speed all the time, and the idle temp crept up from about 75 to that 120 over the space of two weeks.

Have to admit, not entirely stable - the card crashed twice in that week. Also, burnt my hand on the case due to the radiated heat from it :/

My i5 was running at 99C across all 4 cores for over a week using stock Intel cooler before I got a real cooler. I suspect a misconfigured fan setting in the BIOS prevented proper cooling the whole time.

Currently running a Celeron 530 @ 1.73GHz at 64 degrees C Idle.

It's a laptop and I can't seem to find anywhere to actually put an extra fan. Just a bloody hot lappy. Just thought I might as well add that :D

before i got my megahalems i was using the stock intel cooler and had my i7 at 3.2 @ 90c stable, but backed it down to stock when temps started to get above freezing outside.

* CPU Type: Core i7 920 @ 3.6 Ghz, HT enabled

Was a crazy and fun day with a mates laptop :p
Oh and coretemp and realtemp confirmed the temps and damn the tiny fan was really pumping out some hot air :D

Holy old thread batman! Someone must have found it and voted in the poll (last post is the one above this one. It's an interesting read though. Might be worth making a new improved recent edition.
