Upgrading Samsung Galaxy Ace

Hi all!
I have a SAmsung Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830L) that has Android 2.3.4 and I wanted to upgrade it to 3 or to 4 if possible but i never upgraded a phone in my life, so I came here, to get all the answers you can give me.
Can anyone help me? which OS is the best suited for my phone?

you can't upgrade it to 3, HC is for tablets only.
As to whether you can install 4, that would depend on if there is a rom from the community, sure as heck that it isn't from Samsung.
Check out galaxyics.com but as always, you do this at your own risk.
Note that while some things work, many other things that work on your phone now probalby won't, as the releases from the community rarely have everything working (gps, video, youtube, etc). That's just how it is. Just make sure that the rom you're about to flash works with what you need your phone to do.
