thinking of taking my notebook with a x600 256mb graphic back and getting one with an x700 128mb and or a 9700 with 128mb. which one is better? also where can i find out the clock of these cards?

my mobile 9700 64mb one kicks some butt - to me @ least : - i onl got 512 of ram which kills HL2 for me - i can run it @ 800 x 600 with medium setting - but it is always access my HD :(

is a 9800 256mb mobile an option ? this one is based on the x800 Core but down tone - it is the fastest AGP laptop video card you can get.

Oh? I thought they had X800 and 6800 Ultra mobiles.

The Desktop X700 is the far better card of the two Desktop cards - this should hold true with the notebook versions as well.

I would get the X700 for the GDDR3 alone.

they do however the 6800 are all x-press not agp, so they are all with p4's. i have a p4 3ghz now but i want a 64bit amd. my last notebook was a 2.2 and sandra benched the amd faster in everything but video and memory so i really want to get another amd. i was just looking at the acer and it comes with x700. i wasnt sure if the x700 with 128mb ram would be better or worse than the x600 with 256mb or ram that i currently have. this here x600 got a good score in 3dmark2001se:

im just lookin go for the best since this is my only pc.
thanks for you input :)

yes there are x800 and 6800 are PCIe

what they did was ATi made one last high end AGP vid card for laptops - the result was them just taking the x800 core and calling it the mobile 9800 256mb - so in the end the card should O/C well in a laptop :D

oh ya? thats not that good then cuz the 9600 is only on a 128bit pipeline. i totally want something on a 256bit line. that what the current video cards run.
