and I thought that I was the only one !!

It also changes the way u log on ( DSL guys only ) and creates a heck of a problem.

sigh.... only getting 63. cox@home seems to be muuch slower since they changed management. And the new software really made no difference at all in performance.

I personally like this one, but it is on the West Coast but I think they must have a great connection to a fatty backbone. They seem very reliable.

I couldn't use the test at cable-modem.net for some reason but I was able to try out bandwidthspeedtest.com as Tracert reccomended. I tried it a bunch of times and I got from a low of 800Kb to a high of 1.2Mb a sec.
