AM2 mobo with AM3 cpu

Hi
I have AM2/2+ mobo asrock AliveXfire-eSATA2 and I was wondering if i can install AM3 cpu in it.
I had downloaded all BIOS updates but still I'm wondering will it actually work and will the cpu work at it's full capacity.

From the list it looks like your fine as long as it isn't any of the thubans I had a ASUS M2N32 and I had a AM3 in it for a while and everything worked as it should. Just make sure you have the latest bios.

Athlon II x2 260
or
AMD Phenom X4 9850
or
AMD Phenom II X4 840

I cant make up my mind
but my main concern is will it perform the same as in am3 mobo

All three of those processors will run just fine and compl;etely up to their potential in a AM2/2+ motherboard.
