Unstable

It looks like either your Linux core or your rig is unstable. The work unit gets worked on, then gets interrupted (hang or freeze) then starts again where the last good data was, only to hang again.
 
Hmmm.... Well my linux rig isn't overclocked at all i don't think.. I will check though, so i wouldn't have thought it would be unstable. What else could cause instability ?

Do you have FAH installed twice using machine ID 1 on both? That could explain the conflict message you've been getting. Improper shutdowns seem to be the norm on that rig as well. What is causing that?

When you start FAH use ./FAH504-Linux.exe -forceasm -verbosity 9

The -forceasm flag will force optimizations on regardless of the previous improper shutdown.
-verbosity 9 will cause the client to write maximum info into the log.

Do you have permissions set correctly on the work folder and have only one work folder? Each frame completion should overwrite the all the data and it should be impossible to go back to frame 8 after completing frame 11, unless the data files aren't being written to the work folder.
 
:S Didn't see that. I can't have configured it then, but it is sorted before it starts going, must have been when i first installed it, was playing around with it.
 
There are a lot of "breaks" in that folding log all during one day. Are you stopping and starting the client or is it doing that by itself?
 
OK, the reason why it's going really slow is that each time you've stopped it, you've stopped it improperly. To fix this you should:

To fix this you need to
1)Figure out how to stop the client properly (I thought it was just ctrl+c
scratchchin.gif
)
2)Add the flags -forceasm (won't run slow even if you close improperly) and -verbosity9 (gives more info to help diagnose problems)

I'm a linux newb so I don't know how to do either :bang head Can someone tell him how to do that? dropadrop maybe? ;)

ctrl-c when the window it is running it has focus ... i assume it is the same as i am using with my spm/linux.

It is thre same for a windows cpu or gpu console running from the desktop (ie not as a service).

I'm thinking you've got more than one work folder. add -local to the startup string.
